Each year an elegant and glamorous black and white ball is thrown to raise money for the leading respiratory hospital in the country, National Jewish Health. In addition, the ball gathers supporters and leadership in the Los Angeles and Western Region to celebrate the hospitals accomplishments from the previous year.
At the ball, National Jewish Health honors two leaders in business and their community. These individuals show a commitment to giving back to their community. A trait that rings true throughout their whole lives, professional and personal. The 2015 Honorees were George Blanco, managing partner at Avant Advisory Group and Sunnie Kim, CEO at Hana Financial. Both honorees were given the Humanitarian Award.
Catina Lesavoy, Senior Associate Director of Special Events, recalls that her favorite part of the ball this year was the video that they create and play for the guests. "It paints a clear and relevant picture of why we do what we do, and the direct impact on the lives of our patients." She also wanted to do a shout out to the band, NightShift from Citrus College. "They were so fabulous and had everyone up on the dance floor all night long!"
The $400,000 raised this year will be spread across all of the lifesaving work that takes place at National Jewish Health. The money isn't restricted to any specific program, but goes where it is needed the most!
